  10. Last night I was fooling around with a flat C128 that a friend picked up
  11. at a yard sale or something. He said the keyboard didn't work well, so I
  12. was able to get it going by repalcing the CIA chip. While testing it out I
  13. discovered that it wouldn't recognise anything on the serial bus either.
  14. Any call to ANY device would return a "device not present" error.  I
  15. replaced the second CIA chip and still no dice.  While constantly
  16. rebooting this computer I would also get various reboot errors of two
  17. variations. About half the time the machine will not complete a reboot and
  18. not display the READY prompt and cursor. Another quarter of the time it
  19. will instead display this weird message:

  23. This shows up where the READY prompt would normally be, but the cursor
  24. sits there blinking after the last zero of this line!!!! Has anyone
  25. witnessed this before? Does anyone have a clue what it could mean? I
  26. suspect it is a cryptic clue to something, but I don't know what.  Thanks
